Dirk Strider
age 27/height 6’2
Dave’s older brother, and teacher in demon hunting. He usually just talks with his expressions, but when he does have something to vocalize it’s usually a pretty good idea to listen to.
His reasons for moving to Japan and becoming a demon hunter are all pretty vague, even to Dave. His best friend is Jake English who lives next door (in fact probably his only real adult friend) they can often be seen playing Shogi or Othello on the porch.

Jade H. Egbert
age-18/height 5’3”
John’s energetic and smart older sister. She spends most of her time playing in the large family garden with the dogs Bec and Haley. She loves hearing stories of adventure from their Great Uncle, Jake.
She’s on the school archery team (because apparently guns are too violent for school) and is one of the top hitters. She usually walks home with John and Dave (who are on the soccer team) and she leads them into many misadventures that of course she solves.
Dave Strider
age-17/height 5’6”
John’s long time best friend ever since he moved next door to the Egbert household when he was 6, from his home in Texas. (His family is French/American)
He works secretly as a Demon hunter with his older Bro; Dirk.
Fighting the unseen in Japan, having to keep it a secret from John (who probably wouldn’t believe him anyway, he’s tried hinting at it on occasion but John can be a little thick)
But certain events lead to him having to flat out spill the beans, and try to keep John safe.
Dad Egbert
age- 42
John and Jade’s loving father, runs Egbert’s English Tea and Cake Catering with his mother Jane. He enjoys spending his down time smoking with his uncle while discussing things most people don’t really understand.
John C. Egbert
age- 17/ height-5’4”
Second year high school student whose family runs an out of the house catering business. Father (along with great uncle and grandmother) is British, mother was Japanese. Lives with his Dad, Grandmother (Jane), Older Sister (Jade), and his Great Uncle (Jake), along with their two dogs Bec and Haley.
Next door are the Striders; Dave and Dirk. (an old Kendo dojo)
John’s house borders a large ancient forest, with many legends surrounding it.
And as John continues through the story he learns more about the myths and tales, ultimately becoming part of them himself…
